Upgrading ubuntu & koha
Hi We are going to move a server from ubuntu 16.4 to 18.4 and koha from 17.5 to latest stable. All this in a new machine to minimize downtime. Is there any special consideration to take care of? In my understanding, for the biblio DB, I only need to install base koha (command line part) an then copy the DB from the old system and do a DB upgrade. How do I move all other parameters like system preferences, custom css, js, etc? About the creation of the"super librarian" password, does this still needs to be done? Also in the wiki, there is a reference to a bug about a dependency not covered by koha. Is it fixed? Hi Alvaro, system preferences and custom CSS and JS stored in system preferences (not separate files) are stored in your database and will be moved as well. Also your patron accounts and passwords, including your superlibrarian. What could change is your DB user password, depending on how you create the new database. If you have stored any files on the server or have made changes to configuration files (SIP for example) you will have to move them separately. Which dependency are you referring too? Hope this helps, Katrin On 04.01.20 17:36, Alvaro Cornejo wrote:

Hi Katrin We will see what it gets. I then will need to manually move apache configs, crons, custom icons, biblio covers, etc. The dependencies I was refering to was the ones about ubuntu 18.4 LTS and referred here: * http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Koha-on-Ubuntu-18-04-LTS-Bionic-Beaver-td5... <http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Koha-on-Ubuntu-18-04-LTS-Bionic-Beaver-td5975633.html>* Regards, Alvaro. |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Envíe y Reciba Datos y mensajes de Texto (SMS) hacia y desde cualquier celular y Nextel en el Perú, México y en mas de 180 paises.
