I could add, that the override renewal box shows when my circulation staff are logged in, but when they actually click on renew they get the message that they are an unauthorized user and are asked to login with another user to continue.. Check out this document: http://koha.org/documentation/manual/3.2/patrons/patron-permissions You need to have GranularPermissions turned on and then allow the circ staff to override renewals.
