Greetings, What is the difference between biblio.copyrightdate and biblioitems.publicationyear? Where does the metadata that populates these columns come from? Thanks, Jess ________________________________________ Jessica L. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the first was for Marc21 and the latter for Unimarc dates. And that this data came from the 260. Nicole On Wed, May 2, 2012 at 5:06 PM, Tobin, Jessica L <jtobin@fhcrc.org> wrote:

It's much more complicated than that. copydate is in a control field, I forget which right now, as a fixed-length set of digits. pubdate is in 260$c and is often irregularly formatted. If you have good clean records, copydate is better, but in real life what we often do is point copydate in zebra to 260$c and polish them up a bit. -- Robin Sheat Catalyst IT Ltd. ✆ +64 4 803 2204 GPG: 5957 6D23 8B16 EFAB FEF8 7175 14D3 6485 A99C EB6D
Robin, I have searched my DB and I do have clean records with dates in the fixed fields, but copydate is empty in my DB. That's why someone has said it was a unimarc thing ... ideas? Nicole On Wed, May 2, 2012 at 8:09 PM, Robin Sheat <robin@catalyst.net.nz> wrote:

Hi Nicole, what is your Koha-to-Marc-Mapping for 260$c? Is it mapped to copyrightdate or publicationyear? The mappings are always 1:1, so one of the fields in your database will always be empty. The mappings don't work with fixed fields right now. Hope that helps, Katrin

Okay mine is: copyrightdate 260 c So, if you can't map to a fixed field and I have never changed my mapping then my original comment was correct? Nicole On Fri, May 11, 2012 at 8:33 AM, Fischer, Katrin <Katrin.Fischer@bsz-bw.de> wrote:
