I've been in contact with some Evergreen folks that are going to start working on developing a Kids Catalog type interface that will be targeted toward k-3 grade students to use. Similar to the old Carl catalog I suspect, but they are starting from scratch. If others are interested in this type of interface please reply to this post so we can judge interest and the possibility of collaborative development. I believe they have an IMLS grant that is helping to pay for some of the development. http://biblio-os.blogspot.com/2010/02/kids-catalog-project-gets-underway.htm... - blog post from Amy Terlaga example of TLC's - kids catalog: http://starship.snap.lib.ca.us/remote/servlet/kcHome example of III? http://vulcan.bham.lib.al.us:90/ I figure if nothing else we might be able to share the icon development and not the searching or??? -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Kids-Catalog-interest--tp27608866p27608866.html Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
Whatever happened to YakPac? I believe this was a LibLime-supported option at one point, but haven't been able to find any live examples ... Cab Vinton, Director Sanbornton Public Library Sanbornton, NH On Tue, Feb 16, 2010 at 9:09 AM, David Schuster <dschust1@tx.rr.com> wrote:

That is still out there I believe, but I don't want the social aspects and it really was more of a cutsie front end, and not an icon driven tool. Cab Vinton wrote:

We had paid for YakPak and then were informed that YakPak will not happen/be developed. LibLime refunded our money. Debbie Debbie Thomas User Support Services Coordinator Derby Public Library 1600 E Walnut Grove Derby, KS 67037 316-788-0760 (Fax) 316-788-7313 debbie@derbylibrary.com

Debbie Thomas said, "We had paid for YakPak and then were informed that YakPak will not happen/be developed. LibLime refunded our money." That's interesting to know. We had tossed around the idea of looking into YakPak for a small elementary age collection we will soon have as a "branch" location. I suppose you might say we would still be interested in seeing some sort of child-geared product developed; however, we're not in a position to offer any development help. ~Joy Joy M.
