At http://authorities.loc.gov once you locate the authority record you want, at the bottom of the screen there are options to download text, and a couple varieties of MARC Non-Unicode /MARC 8 Unicode UTF-8 Anyone know which is the better option if you're using MARC 21? -- Elaine
Elaine, Actually that's what I was doing - but for some reason the import script keeps telling me it's importing zero records ... so I guess LOC is good - it's just something I need to fix with my settings. This is what I'm seeing when I try to import authorities: nengard@debian:~/kohaclone/misc/migration_tools$ perl bulkauthimport.pl -file http://195.254.156.179/opac-tmpl/prog/covers/hoover.mrc 0 MARC record done in 0.000422954559326172 seconds nengard@debian:~/kohaclone/misc/migration_tools$ perl bulkauthimport.pl -file /Users/nengard/Desktop/hoover.mrc 0 MARC record done in 0.000571012496948242 seconds nengard@debian:~/kohaclone/misc/migration_tools$ perl bulkauthimport.pl -file /Users/nengard/Desktop/Pwebrecon\(2\).mrc -v 2 CHAR : MARC21 0 MARC record done in 0.0004119873046875 seconds Thanks Nicole On Tue, Dec 8, 2009 at 8:27 AM, Elaine Bradtke <bradtke.e@googlemail.com> wrote:
