Hi Guys, I'm back from Soissons, Tropheesdulibre. I'm sure you're interested to know who wins. So, here is the answer... In Game category, it's VegaStrike. In General Public category, it's Weasel Reader In Accessibility, it's Gok, In Educational, it's Gcompris In TodoManagement, it's Dolibarr, In Application Agencies. Hmm... let me remember... I think I forget... One minut, there was 3 candidates : Localis, from Mose, mm... no, that was not him. A nice guy anyway. CPS... ah, yes, i remember this guy. But I don't remember seeing it winning anything. Koha. Was Koha the winner ? Let me think a little second. hmmmm.... Ah, that's it, I remember : yes, Koha wins. :-D :-D Note : I just arrived at home. Some more information tomorrow morning for me (GMT+2) -- Paul POULAIN Consultant indépendant en logiciels libres responsable francophone de koha (SIGB libre http://www.koha-fr.org)
Hello, I have access to an unix account, but no root access. Is it possible to install Koha and all the needed packages, apache, mysql and perl from this account? If so, how? thanks Jian
Hey Jian, First of all, I would like to say that I do not know all of the nuances of all the requirements. That said, I think that it would be rather difficult (if not impossible) to do a full install just as a regular user. Depending on how much experience you have with Linux (or Unix) systems, this could become even harder. The strictly Koha stuff (i.e. the files that we have on SourceForge) should no present any problems being installed in a user directory. The hardest part will be getting the Apache and MySQL stuff set up if you do not have a root account. I really think the best way to play around with Koha would be to either use the "Test Drive" installation at http://www.koha.org/drive or to put Linux on a machine that you have and then install it on that machine. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 It's nice to see discussion of a Spanish implementation of Koha. This leads me to wonder about the internal architecture of Koha and whether it was designed to handle languages such as Chinese and Arabic. Was it? I am very encouraged by what I see in Koha.
