Request for your guidance and help
We are facing a problem after transferring data from WINISIS to Koha. The following steps are adopted during data transfer. 1. In the first stage the Data is transferred from WINISIS to MS Excel. 2. In the 2nd step the Data in MS Excel is transferred to MS Access . 3. In the 3rd step the Data in MS Access is transferred to MYSQL But unfortunately, when the data search operation is applied in Koha, the transferred data through above steps cannot be searched. If we insert data through Koha directly, that data can be searched but if we transfer the data through the above mentioned three steps then the data cannot be searched. Your valued comments and guidance will be highly appreciated. Obaidullah

There's a previous experience in importing data from ISIS to Koha, and it has been recorded in the Koha Documentation site at [1]. You can also use the Biblio::ISIS module (in CPAN) to write a little program that extracts records from your ISIS database and allows you to prepare INSERT queries into the Koha database. This other document [2] (Poulain, 2005) might help you understand the basics of data migration in Koha. Dear Obaid Please send a marc record from your koha database which is being made by the conversion process mentioned in your email. In my point of view there may be some mapping issue in your data Regards On 8/30/07, Obaidullah <obaid@iiu.edu.pk> wrote:

Dear I've checked the marc record. It is not the standard marc. You may also check it at http://www.loc.gov/marc/umb/um11to12.html Please make sure to map all fields according to standard US MARC and then upload using bulkmarcimport script Regards, On 9/12/07, Obaidullah <obaid@iiu.edu.pk> wrote:
