Unable to place holds
3.01.00.124 Linux ubuntu 2.6.31-20-generic #58-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 12 04:38:19 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux I discovered that I could not place holds in the OPAC this morning, this was the first time on this install I had played with holds. I went to the staff client and discovered that I couldn't place holds there either. Though the error message is much more detailed. Cannot place hold: this record has no items attached. However when I click on items I see the items attached to the record and the status, plus I can checkout the items. Any thoughts on where to go and what to investigate/ In that its telling me that I have no items attached to the record. I know this is false because I can checkout items and I can see the items on the MARC display. Any ideas for troubleshooting this?
There were some bugs in that version that have been patched. I recommend upgrading to 3.0.5 - the most recent stable release and seeing if you can get holds to work then. Thanks, Nicole On Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 10:49 AM, Erik Lewis <elewis@ngrl.org> wrote:

Okay - ignore me - there wasn't a dot before that 1 :) I too have this issue and it has been patched, but the patch hasn't been pushed (that I know of). Thanks (and sorry), Nicole On Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 10:51 AM, Nicole Engard <nengard@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi there ... I too had this issue until yesterday and wasn't able to find any patch or discussion about it :-( .... Today, Holds are working (I can put next available items on hold and choose individual items too) because I added a new default circulation rule setting 'Default' on the itemtype and 'Default' on the borrowertype... I didn't change my previous rules, just added the new one I have to further test holds to see if everything works as it should, but this is a start :) ... and maybe this information helps to fix this problem :) Best regards!
