Hi Steve, There are several consortia I am aware of that are implementing Koha, including but not necessarily limited to Northeast Kansas Library System (my system), Southeast Kansas Library System, Central Kansas Library System, INCOLSA, MASSCAT, WALDO, ICAN (Ohio), and Big Country Library System (Texas). INCOLSA is maintaining a Koha consortia discussion list at koha-consort@incolsa.net . Please feel free to contact INCOLSA and sign up for that so you can post questions. We operate in a shared database environment in which users can place holds on items in all participating libraries. Libraries are essentially treated as branches. Individual have individual policy profiles except where only one global setting is allowed, but as much as possible they agree to share consistent policies regarding item types, circulation periods, etc. Libraries also use collection codes to identify collections within their libraries. Feel free to look at our OPAC at http://catalog.nexpresslibrary.org/ and our project web site at http://www.nexpresslibrary.org/. If you have specific questions contact me anytime. Hello,
I am exploring Koha in a consortium setting, and would really appreciate any information on that topic. I have looked around, but I will admit that I have not found any recent information on the best design, given a single database/installation of koha. How, for instance, are sublocations (such as collections) defined if the koha installation is set to keep libraries separate?
Is there any place where the conversation on this topic is gathered, or a project where the configuration decisions have been shared? I have looked at the vokal wiki, for instance, but that seems mostly about interface design at this stage.
Thanks,
Steve

I've been off the mailing list for a little while, and just heard about this little discussion.
I'd like to throw the PC reservations system I wrote, Powerline ( http://code.google.com/p/powerline/) into the mix. It has most of the administration capabilities Greg mentioned and basic integration with Koha, and has been running at our library on a Linux server since last August. We originally developed it because we were unsatisfied with Pre-book, the first one we tried (due to a clumsy reservation process and confusing administration interface).
While we currently use the Pre-book Windows client on the individual patron computers, I have been working on a Linux client (which should be trivial to port to Windows), and it should be available in rough beta by Valentine's Day.
Any help with development on it would be much appreciated, of course!
