We just built a KOHA server and would like to import our other Library manager data. We are currently using one called "Handy Library Manager" made by "Primasoft" We exported the data from that system and it is just a excel file We have about 14K books. We don't want to remake the database in KOHA by hand. Is there a way to import it into KOHA? If needed, I can give a copy of the DB export so you can see what we have. Thanks Jason
Hi, Jason-- Fred King and Lauren Denny are going to give a presentation at KohaCon22 on Thursday, September 22, on how to do exactly this--the conference will be livestreamed & recorded. This is their presentation description:
From csv to mrc: Converting Your Spreadsheet into MARC Records Are your library’s bibliographic records stored in a spreadsheet? Does dealing with them feel like herding cats? Let us show you some simple tools to standardize your cat records so you can import data that are easier to search/filter in Koha.

Hi You need to "convert" your exported doc to mark format before importing it. You can use the free tool markedit to do the mappings between your excel file and a mark file to import. You can get marcedit and tutorials here: https://marcedit.reeset.net/downloads Regards, Alvaro |----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Stay safe / Cuídate/ Reste sécurisé *7* Switch off as you go / Apaga lo que no usas / Débranchez au fur et à mesure. *q *Recycle always / Recicla siempre / Recyclez toujours P Print only if absolutely necessary / Imprime solo si es necesario / Imprimez seulement si nécessaire Le jeu. 15 sept. 2022 à 09:53, Maintenance <maintenance@svdpacademy.org> a écrit :
