Relevance in Results Display
Hi Koha Community, Is it just in our Koha or is something really off with Relevance Sorting of Koha? In the attached images, the search keywords in the default search are "triumph of moro" and common logic would say that the material with the title "Triumph of Moro diplomacy..." should be the number 1 result but instead it ranked only 3rd in both staff and opac interface with the first 2 results not containing any of the keywords in their title or author. Is there anyway I or we can improve this? We're using: - Koha 17.05.03 - Zebra 2.0.59 - Staff/OPAC SortField: Relevance - Staff/OPAC SortOrder: Ascending and/or Descending (makes no difference in our case?) Thank you and hope to hear from the community. Regards, Jerome Attachment: Image 1: https://i.imgur.com/PDS1bhB.png Image 2: https://i.imgur.com/MZXBOcr.png
Hi Jerome, some of the search system preferences have a negative impact on relevance. Try setting QueryAutoTruncate to 'only if * is added' and check if that improves your search results. Depending on how your search is set up, you can also try toggling the other search system preferences to see if that gives you better results (QueryFuzzy, QueryStemming, QueryWeithFields). Hope this helps, Katrin On 13.08.19 06:24, Jerome Trinidad wrote:

Thank you, Katrin! QueryAutoTruncate "only if * is added" worked well for me! On Mon, Aug 19, 2019 at 1:56 PM Katrin Fischer <katrin.fischer.83@web.de> wrote:
