Koha print circulation slips
All, I am trying to find a way to print circulation slips (hold/checkout) automatically. Has anyone else tried to do this? Take a look at http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=4389 I'll rebase it so it (hopefully) hits master. To+
Linda, This configuration information may help you, it is what we do to configure our receipt printers to print automatically. http://www.nexpresslibrary.org/go-live/configure-your-receipt-printers/ You can also do this with a version of portable firefox, used only for Koha, that has the receipt printer configurations built in. I'm happy to provide direction in how to get that working as well (there are a few tricks to it). Liz Rea NEKLS On Apr 12, 2011, at 4:01 PM, Linda Culberson wrote:

This information can now be found on the Koha wiki as well, at http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Configure_Automatic_Receipt_Printing :) Liz Rea NEKLS On Apr 13, 2011, at 8:57 AM, Linda Culberson wrote:

I also added one more bit of information regarding better use of Firefox as a Koha client: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Using_Portable_Firefox_as_a_Koha_Client This way you can have a version of firefox with a restricted printer, and a version that can print to any printer. You can set up Firefox to have multiple profiles, each with a different independent configuration. That sounds easier to maintain than multiple copies of portable firefox. Running it as 'firefox -ProfileManager' will bring up the window that lets you configure this (there's possibly a way to activate it from within the GUI, but I'm not sure.) -- Robin Sheat Catalyst IT Ltd. ✆ +64 4 803 2204 GPG: 5957 6D23 8B16 EFAB FEF8 7175 14D3 6485 A99C EB6D
I tried looking at this a bit for Internet Explorer, anybody know how to make Explorer "auto print/silent print"? I have tried playing with this - so a couple of caveats: a) don't mix different versions of Firefox (it is possible - I mixed 3.x and 4.x) but all sorts of instability set in including IE becoming fixed (as in concrete) as default browser, resolved (on a winXP machine) only by a registry hack. b) back up a working profile before playing with it ;=} c) there is no interface from "within"; all instances of Firefox have to be closed to access the ProfileManager. Yea, we tried that and it was much too clunky for normal usage: users wanted to run them at the same time side by side. Liz Rea NEKLS On Apr 13, 2011, at 5:40 PM, Robin Sheat wrote:
