3.2 "no physical items" and no barcode incrementing?
We are now using 3.2, and it is very exciting! * We can add a New book in either default or book or fast format ... * We can search for it in Thai or English * When found, it displays a message under "Holdings" that says "No physical items for this record" -- But I did add an item ... . This may be related to another "challenge": * I get no barcode unless I choose incremental barcodes (annual or branch (hb ...) seem not to produce any barcode), AND * All barcodes=1 ... (I've added 3 books and their barcodes are all the same ... 1). Needless to say, I have not gotten a spinelabel to print yet (500 errors still -- probably my fault). Suggestions on any or all points above would be appreciated. Sorry to bother the list members with what is probably newbie stuff. Hmm... both incremental and the hb** pattern work here. Check the error logs and see if there is any more info there. (koha-error_log; its location may vary depending on the type of install you did.)
Needless to say, I have not gotten a spinelabel to print yet (500 errors still -- probably my fault).
Again, check the error log and post any errors.

Ask away... that's one reason the list is here. :-) Kind Regards, Chris

Chris, On my install of HEAD the barcode has also stopped incrementing. I had it set to increment with the branch code and it worked for a while, but then just stopped, I figured it was something I did while testing so I haven't reported it as a bug as of yet, but it might be that there is a number where the incrementing stops? It seems more likely that something has broken, and I have not rebased to the current HEAD. I'll try to carve out some time to take a look today or tomorrow. Kind Regards, Chris
We reinstalled and now barcodes are incrementing and physical items are showing up. I'm using the "annual" format for barcodes and anywhere there is a place to put in an item number, I put it in. Two new problems: 1. Is anyone else getting a corrupted pdf when printing spine labels? 2. When we try to import a record after searching wit z39.50 (successfully), we get this error: Software error: Can't call method "add_subfields" on an undefined value at /srv/koha3.intknowledge.com/intranet/cgi-bin/cataloguing/addbiblio.pl line 142. So far, we can't figure it out. Ideas would be appreciated. I am getting a "corrupted file" aswell, but only when I select a Layout Type other than 'Barcode' in the Label Layout AND there are diacritics in one or more of the fields I selected to print. I tested the generator selecting items with no diacritics and it worked fine. The error says: %PDF-1.4 %âãÏÓ 4 0 obj<</Type/Font/Subtype/Type1/BaseFont/Courier/Encoding/WinAnsiEncoding>>endobj 5 0 obj<</Type/Font/Subtype/Type1/BaseFont/Times-Italic/Encoding/WinAnsiEncoding>>endobj 6 0 obj<</Type/Font/Subtype/Type1/BaseFont/Times-Roman/Encoding/WinAnsiEncoding>>endobj <h1>Software error:</h1> <pre>Wide character in compress at /usr/share/perl5/PDF/Reuse.pm line 819 </pre> <p> For help, please send mail to the webmaster (<a href="mailto:webmaster@koha32test">webmaster@koha32test</a>), giving this error message and the time and date of the error. </p> -- Ing. The diacritical problem is a known issue and is rather complicated. It has been discussed at length before on the list so you can search the archives for the gory details. The short of it is: they don't work for the most part. This explains the above error. Kind Regards, Chris
Ok. I see that if I choose the barcode type for layout it does print a barcode. Thank you. Any ideas re. the error when importing a record from the results of a z39.50 search?
