Admin patrons are denied access to admin interface
Hi all, I elevated the privileges of a normal use to admin ones and moreover I created another one granted her the same privileges. For some reasons they can access the normal interface but they are denied the admin one. For the moment the only user allowed to enter the web-admin interface is kohaadmin but I should use that only to create patrons, right? What and where can I look at to allow those two users to enter the webadmin interface? BTW Koha is suppposed to authenticate users against AD but afaik if it doesn't find them in AD it should look at the local DB, should'n it? Thanks, Alex

Exactly what privileges have you assigned? Regards, Bernardo

Hi Bernardo, they are both in a specific category with Staff privileges. Alex
Hi Alex, what I mean is: Do they have "catalogue" permission (among others)? It's required for staff client access take a look at http://es.koha-community.org/manual/3.14/en/patronpermissions.html#setpatron... Hi Bernardo, indeed by granting the "catalogue View Catalog (Librarian Interface)" permission now she has access. I thought that "Staff" meant a group with some special permission, already granted by default, more than normal users I guess I have to grant permissions to the group Staff manually by myself or to choose a group with higher privileges. Hi Alex, It should be noted that assigning a category does not imply any permissions in the staff client. The only thing that is special about the staff borrower category is that it can not have guaranteed children. There are no 'role' based sets of permissions in Koha. Every borrower you wish to have logged in to the staff client will need to have their permissions set explicitly - Superlibrarian is the permission that allows every action in the staff client. I'd start there, and once you have an idea about the system start creating your lists of permissions for specific users based on their role at the library. Again, each of these will have to be done individually. I hope this helps explain a bit more. Cheers, Liz On 20/03/14 01:22, alessandro macuz wrote:

Greetings, If you note the URL in the address bar for a person who can access the pages you want them to access, then you should be able to get them to go to the URL directly. It was disconcerting to get a scenario where I was able to "not login in", but able to go directly to the one section that I had permissions for. GPML, Mark Tompsett
