MARC export - not exporting everything?
Koha 3.14.03 Several attempts were needed to export the entire catalogue - I really only wanted a certain item type that does not have item records. First I tried exporting only these records by choosing the appropriate item type. According to MARC edit, I had -11 records. Yes, a negative number. The MARC breaker failed to parse this file. Not surprising when I saw that it had 0 KB of data. Next I exported what I thought was the entire catalog - the only thing I selected was the library, everything else left blank. However the only records in the exported file are the ones with item records. Exactly the records I don't need! Finally, I exported the whole file again, this time selecting 'Don't export items'. And this, and only this configuration produced a full export of the biblios. Is this normal or expected behaviour? It seems counter-intuitive to me. -- Elaine Bradtke Data Wrangler VWML English Folk Dance and Song Society | http://www.efdss.org Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regent's Park Road, London NW1 7AY Tel +44 (0) 20 7485 2206 (This number is for the English Folk Dance and Song Society in London, England. I also tried limiting it to the item type and selecting 'Don't export items' but this resulted in another empty file. On Wed, Mar 19, 2014 at 5:34 PM, Elaine Bradtke <eb@efdss.org> wrote:

What showed up in the error logs? Does exporting only one or two things work? -- Robin Sheat Catalyst IT Ltd. ✆ +64 4 803 2204 GPG: 5FA7 4B49 1E4D CAA4 4C38 8505 77F5 B724 F871 3BDF
No errors showed up in the logs. I can export the whole catalogue (minus the items) by selecting don't export items. Otherwise, all I get are empty files. I haven't tried exporting single items. Meanwhile, I've fixed the problem records. Uploading and staging MARC records, and importing all seem to work as expected. On Wed, Mar 19, 2014 at 10:22 PM, Robin Sheat <robin@catalyst.net.nz> wrote:
