One of my questions is this:  I have encountered a few Library of Congress records that contain typos.  How would I correct those records for my own library?

Editing records in Koha is a relatively simple process. This page in the manual gives a brief overview of the process: http://koha.org/documentation/manual/3.0/cataloging/editing-records If you have many changes to make, you might consider using a program like MarcEdit, which allows for batch edits (among many other capabilities).
