Publication date (yyyy-yyyy) advanced search option not working in my Koha instance
Hi all, We recently upgraded to 20.05.08 from 19.11, and we've found that the advanced search option in the staff interface for publication date by year range isn't producing any results for us if we use it. Specifying it with y,st-year in the keyword search instead *does* produce results though. Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this? I've tested it on Bywater's demo, which is running 20.05.04, and it does work there, so I'm guessing it's some quirk specific to our system rather than an actual bug (unless it happened to be introduced between the .04 and .08 releases). Here's our server specs: Koha version: 20.05.08.000 OS version ('uname -a'): Linux ccflskoha.ccfls.org 4.15.0-135-generic #139-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jan 18 17:38:24 UTC 2021 x86_64 Perl interpreter: /usr/bin/perl Perl version: 5.026001 Perl @INC: /usr/share/koha/lib /usr/share/koha/installer /usr/share/koha/lib/installer /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.26.1 /usr/local/share/perl/5.26.1 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl5/5.26 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.26 /usr/share/perl/5.26 /usr/local/lib/site_perl /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl-base /var/lib/koha/ccfls/plugins MySQL version: mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.4.17-MariaDB, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 5.2 Apache version: Server version: Apache/2.4.29 (Ubuntu) PSGI: Plack (deployment) Memcached: Servers: 127.0.0.1:11211 | Namespace: koha_ccfls | Status: running. | Config read from: koha-conf.xml Zebra version: Zebra 2.0.59 (C) 1994-2014, Index Data Zebra is free software, covered by the GNU General Public License, and you are welcome to change it and/or distribute copies of it under certain conditions. Hi Cindy, I have just tested in our 20.05 test installation and it appears to work ok there. Maybe some first things to look into: Are you using Zebra or Elasticsearch? Is 008 pos. 7-10 cataloged correctly for the records in question? Can you share how the search link looks like that does work vs. the one that doesn't? Hope this helps, Katrin On 04.02.21 17:29, Cindy Murdock Ames wrote:

Hi Cindy and all, sorry for the copy and paste error in the email before... guess it as about time something like that happened. Trying again to keep the thread, please just ignore the other email: I have just tested in our 20.05 test installation and it appears to work ok there. Hi Katrin, Thanks for the response. To answer your questions: -- Are you using Zebra or Elasticsearch? Zebra, version 2.0.59 -- Is 008 pos. 7-10 cataloged correctly for the records in question? I think so? Here's a couple samples: @ 110102s2020 nyua 000 0 eng d @ 180420s2019 nyua j 000 1 eng d -- Can you share how the search link looks like that does work vs. the one that doesn't? If I do a "yr,st-year" search via keyword search (which works): https://circ.ccfls.org/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/search.pl?advsearch=1&idx=kw&q=yr%2Cst-year%3A2019-2020&sort_by=relevance If I search from the "Publication date (yyyy-yyyy)" search: https://circ.ccfls.org/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/search.pl?advsearch=1&idx=yr%2Cst-year&q=2019-2020&sort_by=relevance

(I used a different date range because there was only one result for 2019-2020 in the demo system.) Hi Cindy, I am sorry, I am not spotting anything unusual :( I've also tried the date range search in 20.05 and on master and it appears to work correctly there. Maybe some of our Zebra experts could chime in? Katrin On 09.02.21 17:49, Cindy Murdock Ames wrote:
