Also, you might find that it is more difficult to retrieve the correct record via LCCN search (010): the coding standards actually change the number from what would see in CIP. For example, CIP listing 85-16296 (Little myth marker / Robert Asprin) is coded thus (using | to indicate blank space): 010 || $a|||85016296 Even when entered correctly, there can be false negative results in searching by LCCN. For older items, it is often worthwhile searching individually to ensure that you are finding the correct record; if you are trying to keep your catalogue up-to-date with standards, you will need to make corrections in many older records anyway. I am using Koha 2.2.2. I have a question and may be someone has the answer. I am using Z3950 to retrive the marc records from the Library of the Congress. It is working very well, except for one problem. I have lots of books that are more than 50 years old, and therefore do not have an ISBN number. Those books have a marc record in the Library of the Congress, but the Z3950 does not find them, even looking for the Library of the Congress control number. So, I do not know why the Z3950 cannot download a record that does not have an ISBN number, although I am searching by another field (in this case the LC control number). Thanks a lot!
