Need MARC record database help
hi all, we just set up a KohaExpress 3.0x installation through LibLime, who is hosting the installation. we staged & imported a list of MARC21 records, which showed up fine in the database & OPAC. we then "reverted" the record import because we discovered many duplicates in the list & wanted to import an updated list. after the "undo" (done through the administrative backend & "Undo Import" button), the records still appear in searches on the OPAC & backend, but the links return 404 "page not found" errors. we have re-imported the first list & tried to "revert" it again, but the items were duplicated in the database, as though it did not detect the existing (broken) record-references. additional "undo" attempts have yielded the same results. there are no items entered yet. is there a way to purge (erase) the entire database so we can start over? we do not have access to SSH or a command line, so we can not use any command options or see the database files themselves. any help is greatly appreciated! thank you! shane

Hi Shane If you were running standard Koha, I would suggest you run rebuild_zebra.pl with the -r switch. But since you can't, there isn't too much we can do I'm afraid. Can you ask your vendor to run it for you? Do you know what version it actually is? From my recollection it's an old version of Koha, the latest stable is 3.0.5. I'm afraid that without command line access you can't force the indexes to be rebuilt, which is what it sounds like needs to happen. Chris
that's what i thought. thanks so much for the quick reply, chris! i REALLY appreciate it!! -ss shane skeens ceo, senior strategist indigospin : media+marketing 806.438.3021 www.indigospin.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Cormack" <chris@bigballofwax.co.nz> To: "Shane Skeens" <shane@indigospin.com> Cc: <koha@lists.katipo.co.nz> Sent: Tuesday, January 26, 2010 2:05 AM Subject: [SPAM] Re: [Koha] Need MARC record database help 2010/1/26 Shane Skeens <shane@indigospin.com>:
