Help wanted importing bib records from Horizon to Koha
Rodney, You must check if records exported with Horizon follow ISO2709 mainly - no Carriage Returns, record and field separators - characters ASCII 29 and 30 and finally subfield delimiter - ASCII 31. Try to export just 2 records and open the file with a text editor (TEXPAD is very powerfull) to see all this formats. Regards, Rafael Citando Rodney.Foley@utas.edu.au:
HI, I am currently evalutaing Koha and have installed Version 3.00. I want to import some bib data from Horizon (7.3.4) to Koha . I have used the batch bib export function in Horizon to create a file of 17 marc records. When I try to import this into Koha I encounter problems. I can upload the file sucessfully but when I try and stage the file it just sits on 0% completed. There are no error messages and nothing happens. Has anyone sucessfully loaded marc records generated from Horizon. Alternatively can anyone suggest why the staging hangs? Thanks, Rodney _____________________________________________

make sure they are UTF-8 and that there are no other "problems" with the marc records. I had successfully loaded thousands of records from Horizon into Koha 3.x so I know it can be done without much manipulation. I suspect there is a problem with one of the records. We had this problem with 82 records we were just loading into Koha - turns out that the editor didn't have a problem with our 52 tag but koha didn't know where to put it - as soon as we put the 0 in making it a 520 they loaded just fine! I know in Horizon we ended up with several records with incomplete tags that needed to be cleaned up before migration. David Schuster! Good luck! We went Live Jan 5th - and are marching forward! rafael.antonio wrote:
