Problem with notification sending by koha
Hello all. I am using KOHA 3.0.3. I have installed it without using CPAN. I have set up the notifications format, notification rules and cron jobs for notifications but I'm unable to send the notifications. I have sendmail up and working. Moreover, the same cron calculates the fines very well. I have tried to run overdue_message.pl and process_messages.pl manually. They give me no errors and no results as well. Should I set up a mail server inorder to be enable to use the mailing functions of KOHA? I am currently using it on a system with Private IP. Should I use a system with Public IP??? Please Help. Thank you. -- Nitesh Rijal BE IT email: rijal.it@gmail.com url: http://niteshrijal.com.np facebook: http://facebook.com/openrijal twitter: http://twitter.com/openrijal +9779841458173

It is better to include a URL where the file can be downloaded. As soon as you attach an image file to an email, it expands by about 30% (because of base64 encoding), making it even larger. If you don't have a place to upload files and get a URL, try http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/On_the_Web/Web_Applications/Storage/F... Don't send attachments to mailing lists unless it's usual practice (like sending a patch to a software development list) or you really have no alternative. You will be taking up a lot of space, roughly the size of the attachment multiplied by the number of people on the list. One 3Mb waste is bad. 300 times 3Mb gets painful if common. Switching off HTML (or "rich text") emails also helps keep it light. Thanks for helping to keep the email list neat beneath your feet! -- MJ Ray (slef) Webmaster and LMS developer at | software www.software.coop http://mjr.towers.org.uk | .... co IMO only: see http://mjr.towers.org.uk/email.html | .... op
