If the code doesn't serve you, you could look at modifying it. The logging code is quite simple. Just to give you an idea how the logviewer would display the logs, have a look at http://snag.gy/vca9M.jpg details of the operation in question. In my case, I needed my custom plugins (.kpz files) to be logged, so I simply added another option to the logviewer script and added the brief logging code to my plugin code.
