I am trying to prepare my system for installing Koha following the guidelines for Debian Sarge. All seems to go well until I try to install Event. I get an error message saying that make returned bad status. What do I have to do now? -- Please use my new email address- krsnendu108@gmail.com

Errors are reported in the log files, by default they will be in /usr/local/koha/log. Also, when you reply, use they "reply to all" button, that way the e-mail still gets sent to the koha mailing list as well. That way if anyone else has some wisdom to impart, they can also e-mail you. ; ) Kyle On 6/13/06, Krsnendu Dasa <krsnendu108@gmail.com> wrote:
I can log into intranet:8080, but when go to the main opac page :80 it says "Welcome to Koha" then it says "500 internal server error." Any tips?

I have been trying to follow the Admin guide and newbie guide from Kohadocs.org When I go to system preferences there is nothing listed under any of the tabs. I also tried adding an item, but when click ok the list is still empty. The same thing happens when I try to add an issuing rule. When I try to add a stop word it says data saved, but it is not listed when I return to the stopwords admin page. I was able to add a book fund but when I tried to add a budget it said the dateformat was invalid. I was able to add a borrower category. I got this error trying to run rebuildnonmarc.pl ddd@ccccccc:/usr/local/koha/intranet/scripts/misc$ ./rebuildnonmarc.pl Can't locate C4/Context.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.7 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at ./rebuildnonmarc.pl line 10. Hi there, We're thinking of going with Koha as our ILS and would like to hear people's experiences with adopting it as their catalogue. Both the good and the bad. Thanks, Oliver D. As a representative for a Koha support company, I can tell you that this largely depends on : a how closely your requirements match the features in Koha. In our experience every library is slightly different and want to work is slightly different ways. and more importantly, b what format your current data is in. Most of the trouble we have is when clients are unable to get all of their data out of their current system. So the data extraction (which you would have to do if you were changing to any library system) is normally the bit that causes the wailing and gnashing of teeth. Here in Philadelphia, our school library is going through a complete inventory, which we enter through Z39.50. The former software system has been so corrupt that it's not worth trying to import it. Paul Scaer Masterman School
