Re: Forced to generate new barcode
Yes, but which tag/subfield corresponds to the barcode field? I went into my default framework in the biblioframework section but I don't see anything that looks like the field I need. I have been wanting to turn off the mandatory barcode for some time (I don't want to have to enter a barcode number for cataloged Web sites) but have not been able to firgure out how to do it. -- Visit our website at wdpartners.com -- Nancy Collander | Librarian 614.634.7351 | nancy.collander@wdpartners.com WD Partners 7007 Discovery Blvd. | Dublin, OH 43017 614.634.7000 | 614.634.7777 F Integrated retail solutions Atlanta | Boston | Chicago | Columbus | Dallas | Los Angeles | Miami | Sacramento
Are you using MARC or non-MARC? I don't know if that makes a difference. If you're using MARC to find which field to change do the following: In Koha Administration select Links Koha - MARC DB. In the dropdown select items. You should see here which MARC field is mapped to items.barcode in the database. Then in Koha Administration select Biblioframework. In your default framework (or whatever framework you use) search for the tag you just noted. View subfields. Edit subfields. Find your subfield (probably 952p if you have a recent default installation). Under plugin dropdown change it to blank. Now barcode will never be generated automatically for that framework.
