Now that all the instructions look like they have been followed correctly, I can’t seem to get access to the web interface.

What did you try?

Does it need to be on the same server? Does someone else own my library name on koha? Have I typed out the hosts box correctly?

Since I don't know what instructions you followed, I can't be sure what to answer. However I'd recommend to choose Debian GNU/Linux as the operating system, then follow https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_Debian for starters. Unfortunately web access is a quite difficult business, so I won't go into things like internal/external IP address, IP ranges, DNS, SSL certificates, firewalling etc. However, basically, if you installed on a host with the IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, then * your Koha OPAC will be accessible via http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (or, in fact, http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80 ) * your Koha staff interface will be accessible via http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080 Hope that helps.
