Anonymizing circulation history at patron-level?
Am I correct in assuming that it's all or nothing with the tool to anonymize checkout histories? It occurs to me that ideally patrons would be able to choose for themselves whether to have the system remember their reading histories, following full disclosure of the potential implications. (In our state at least, circ records must to be turned over pursuant to subpoena, court order, etc.) At present, I believe our only option is to manually anonymize everyone's records on a schedule of our choosing. I find this whole issue so culturally at odds with the way we think here in NZ. Our patrons LOVE that their reading history is saved and they can access it anytime and sort it and whatever. I can't imagine living in a society where you would even consider that your reading record was not private. Ah the joys of living at the end of the world where no one is interested in you :) Cheers Jo. Cab Vinton wrote:

3.2 has a feature that allows the patron to decide. It's a system preference that I haven't tested yet, but I know it's there ;) Nicole On Thu, Feb 4, 2010 at 4:19 PM, Joann Ransom <jransom@library.org.nz> wrote:
