Hello all! We've got a *very* strange searching problem that has arrived upon upgrading to 3.10.1. In a nutshell, search results are *very* inconsistent. For example, searching for *"five views*" ( http://library.pbc.wa.edu.au/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?idx=&q=five+views) returns 4 results, including one for the book title "five views on sanctification". However, searching for "*five views sanctification*" ( http://library.pbc.wa.edu.au/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?idx=&q=five+views+sanctifcation) returns a no results found page. Similar issues occur when searching on part of a title and author. It seems that the more precise a search is, the less chance there is of finding the resource. Obviously, this is quite a major problem for us! Does anyone have any idea on what might be happening... or where to start diagnosing this? I've attached zebra debug logs for the two searches linked above. God bless, Nick van Oudtshoorn IT - Perth Bible College library.pbc.wa.edu.au

Hi Nick I think this got solved on the irc channel? Maybe you would like to post a summary (i think it was caused by not running rebuild_zebra with -x ?) Chris

Yes - we managed to get this solved on the irc channel. For some reason, rebuilding the zebra index with the -x switch does the trick for us. (And we've now made sure that the periodical zebra re-indexing cron job runs with -x too!). There was some discussion on irc that this was possibly caused by there not being any /any/ index in zebra - perhaps as a result of capitalisation issues in the config file. Regardless, -x does the job /just fine! Dear all We have also a strang behaviour with Koha 3.10.2 We are running into Ubuntu 12.04 and Koha 3.10.2, zebra compiled with grs and indexed with "-x" No errors on zebra logs.....no http errors... nothing just missing records.. The issue is that If we search in any index or author index "canals" we get 27 results, when there are 28 (then one is missing) then... If we search in any index 'Canals Ports' (more specific search) we get the lost result If we search in au index 'Canals Ports' no result found But it is able to find the 710 authority in the did you mean functionality..... Any similar behaviour with author index? Kindest Regards 2013/3/4 Chris Cormack <chris@bigballofwax.co.nz>
