Thanks so much Rosalie Rachel Bernadette. It seems we have a lot of problems, obviously just specific to us. The volume/s etc, we can't access. Very happy though with KOHA and will be upgrading as soon as possible. Hi Heather The developers are talking about a first pre-release (Koha 2 RC1) in about 2 weeks - but that won't be a stable release. There'll be a round of bug-fixing and then more pre-releases before everyone is happy that we have a stable version, which will be Koha v 2.0
Read the log of last week's Koha developers meeting on http://www.haz.cmsd.bc.ca/cgi-bin/kohalog.pl?date=03Sep03 for some idea of the time frame they are looking at. Cheers, Rosalie

Bernadette, thanks so much for the reply. Yours was the only reply. I am putting the journal information in the Notes section, but confusing for people who don't/won't know to look there. If numbers and letters could be added to both class and subclass, that would solve the problems a lot.
Does anyone know when KOHA 2. is out.

Hi Heather,
I was wondering if you received a reply to your query. In my library we use LC class numbers and haven't found a way of adding them satisfactorily, we have the same issue regarding journals as you mentioned.
Cheers,
Bernadette

Hello, could anyone kindly shed some light on the classification entry for journals, etc. We are using Koha 1.2.3. and find that numbers can only be used in class, and letters (3 only) can only be used subclass. Can anyone suggest have they have overcome this when you are cataloguing journals etc and have Vol 3, No 2, etc, and perhaps therefore need numbers and letters together in the one class.
Also does anyone know when Koha 2 will be out.
Thanks kindly
Heather
