Kohathon 2021 call for proposals
Hello everyone, koha-US is getting ready for Kohathon 2021 and we need some presentation proposals. For those of you who don't remember last year, Kohathon 2020 was a 15-hour online educational conference hosted by Koha-US. Like last year, this will be a free event streamed to YouTube and open to anyone who wants to attend. We don't have a website up yet, but we have set a date for April 28 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time and going until 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time (that's 13:00 UTC on the 28th until 01:00 UTC on the 29th). If you are interested in seeing what we did last year, you can check out http://koha-us.org/kohathon-2020/ which has a full schedule and links to all of last year's presentations. And if you're interested in doing a presentation at Kohathon 2021, please fill out the web form at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScLKeZwj2QMNtWTBDdhhxExn33WZMADjlKS... <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScLKeZwj2QMNtWTBDdhhxExn33WZMADjlKSEv5S5jGHXkVtHg/viewform> We plan to accept proposals until March 1. Hi everyone, I'm going to go out on a limb here and make a proposal: I'm pretty new to Koha, particularly anything that isn't circulation. It was very overwhelming at first to try and manage and learn everything, but there are lots of resources out there to help. I'd like to help other users that may be in a similar situation. I'm tossing around an idea where I would host a roundtable with several panelists, and each panelist would have 5-10 minutes to share what strategies they used when they first started using Koha to help them learn how it works and manage everything. I'm looking for other Koha US members that would be interested in participating in the roundtable. Whether you're new to Koha yourself, or you're experienced but remember what it was like when you started, I'd welcome your input. If you're interested in this, please get in touch with me and let me know! My direct email is madamyk@ckls.org Again, at this point it's in the early stages of conception, but I'm hoping we have enough people interested to start planning and organizing a session. Shoot me an email if you have any suggestions! On Wed, Feb 10, 2021 at 11:33 AM George Williams <gwilliams@nekls.org> wrote:
