Hi, I'm considering doing a study of open source library software, perhaps to install open source software in one or a few local elementary schools that have no library software, to see whether the software is cost-effective and useful, compared to proprietary software. Does anyone know of any similar studies? That is, - Do you know of any schools that are using open source library software? - Are you aware of any studies of using open source library software (in schools)? - Are you aware of any studies where someone installed open source software in elementary schools (or other organizations) and studied its ease of use, functionaltiy (e.g., cataloging and circulation), and cost compared to other open- and closed-source library systems? Please reply off-list to me at "lindamarcella at yahoo.com". Thank you, Linda __________________________________ Yahoo!
