What is the Koha Records Limit for Koha 2.2.8?
What is the Koha Records Limit for Koha 2.2.8? We are planning to install Koha 2.2.8 on Windows. We have about 600,000 biblio records. The Patrons are around 6,000. We can decide whether we allow virtual bookshelves or not. Does Koha 2.2.8 measure up to handle the transactions? Are there any parameters that have to be configured for this type of load? Thanks for the reply. What is the Koha Records Limit for 2.2.8 version on Linux? I did not get any specific answer about the max records limit on Windows. Is there anybody who has implemented Koha on Windows? Will you please respond? It will give us an idea to proceed further. this is not good idea to install koha on windows if you want 600 000 biblio records...

Perhaps you should consider waiting a little for Koha 30 release. Then your performances will be great. On a 600.000 biblio records pretty fully indexed, mysql as it is in Koha 2.2. will get you slow answers. We consider that up to 300.000 Koha 22 can do the job. But 3.0 was designed to manage up to 5 million records and give answers in less than a second. Hope that helps. -- Henri-Damien LAURENT

As of now, we have Koha 2.2.9 for Linux and Koha 2.2.8 for Windows :-( And also, there were no previous versions for Windows. Its just an observation. Koha for Windows is developed by a different group of people than the "main" Koha. That's why Koha for Windows lags behind. Whoever is putting together Koha for Windows is probably waiting until the main Koha release, and then make whatever changes are necessary. Are you on the Koha-Win32 list?
