Deleted Biblio breaks search
Happy new year folks! I think i stumbled on a bug or something got awfully bad. I deleted a biblio, and apparently after that all searches on OPAC and Intranet with a related key-word (e.g if i search nutrition) koha brings up this error: Can't call method "as_usmarc" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Search.pm line 2384. Is there a way to fix this?
Happy new year! It sounds to me like you need to reindex your system. Take a look at the Searching FAQ at http://koha-community.org/documentation/faq/searching/ Regards, Jared 2011/1/3 benson Mugambi <mnjoben@yahoo.co.uk>

I had exactly the same error message. I had imported a batch of MARC records using Staged MARC management. Searches worked ok. Then I undid the import and started getting the error on a search in the OPAC: Can't call method "as_usmarc" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Search.pm line 2384. I wasn't using Zebra. If switched Zebra on then I get: No Result found! No results match your search for “kw,wrdl: Wright ” in WTC Library Catalog. Have tried a rebuild of Zebra, but no good. Also had tried the clear index from http://koha-community.org/documentation/faq/searching/ http://koha-community.org/documentation/faq/searching/ Any suggestions? Thank you. -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Deleted-Biblio-breaks-search-tp3325444p334... Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
Hi, after you switched zebra on, did you do a rebuild_zebra.pl -b -w? (On my reasonably standard Debian system I have to do "sudo perl -I /usr/share/koha/lib rebuild_zebra.pl -b -w" after installing, and rebuild_zebra.pl is standard in "/usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools") See if that helps, Marty --- On Thu, 1/20/11, WTC <librarian@wtctheology.org.uk> wrote: From: WTC <librarian@wtctheology.org.uk> Subject: Re: [Koha] Deleted Biblio breaks search To: koha@lists.katipo.co.nz Received: Thursday, January 20, 2011, 8:10 AM I had exactly the same error message. Our library has made the decision to move to Koha in the near future. One thing I can’t seem to find: on the OPAC, display the number of holds on a title from the first screen: The first screen indicates 1 hold—yet when you drill down to the actual holding record, it shows 25 holds. I totally get that there is one holding with holds (25), but can it display for the patrons what their place in the hold queue would be if they placed a hold? Corinne, It's best not to attach images to the mailing list because many on the list are on very slow Internet connections. You should link to images next time. That said, I'm wondering what demo you're using because you're seeing things that are not actually in Koha. The official Koha site and links to official Koha demos can be found here: http://koha-community.org/demo/ I can tell you that in Koha when an item has a hold on it it shows (1) because you have 1 item and that item has one or more holds on it. When a patron clicks to place a hold they can then see where they will be in line for the item. Nicole C. Engard ByWater Solutions 2011/1/20 Dickman, Corinne <CDickman@washoecounty.us>

Nicole is right, that's not Koha. It's a PTFS variant. The feature is described in this bug report: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=4243 But that feature hasn't been accepted into official Koha. Corinne, you'll have to talk to PTFS to get support for your issue. -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org

I forgot something, maybe emptying the zebra database works better, since I am not at the library right now I am doing this from memory, go to debian.INSTALL and search for zebradb, or iso2709 it is I believe, it is almost at the bottom of the document, run these commands for biblios and authorities first, then do a rebuild_zebra.pl --- On Thu, 1/20/11, WTC <librarian@wtctheology.org.uk> wrote: From: WTC <librarian@wtctheology.org.uk> Subject: Re: [Koha] Deleted Biblio breaks search To: koha@lists.katipo.co.nz Received: Thursday, January 20, 2011, 8:10 AM I had exactly the same error message.
