Sirs, I'm just getting my feet wet withy both Koha and barcoding, so pardon me if my question is too obvious, but... I've spent some time looking at the mail lists and wondering why the the 'itemnumber' field in items can't be used as a barcode number? If not directly, then related in some way that it can be derived in some programmatic way on entry? Perhaps in the collected experience here, Is there some reason why this is not practical? Or has it been implemented and simply requiring configuration. I'm soon to commit to experimenting on the matter.
