[Koha] How to trigger emails to patrons about dues, library holidays or other messages

Hello Ravi-

We are making increasing use of the patron emailer cron job for this. It's a marvellous tool. For example, we have a Koha report that identifies users whose accounts are about to expire, and we email them chasing them for the return of items on loan. There's a discussion on Bugzilla about a 'Happy Birthday' message (https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=22086) and again the patron emailer could be used.

There's a good 'How to' video prepared by PFTS Europe: https://ptfs-europe.com/support/sending-email-notifications-from-koha/

There is a little downside to the patron_emailer.pl in that we have to pester PTFS (our support company) when we want a small change or an addition to the crontab for a new or amended emailer run, as we don't have server access, but I recall there is work being done to improve this... maybe a scheduler.

But do check out the feature... it is great.

Hi Koha

I have newly installed Koha 23.11 version working absolutely perfect.

I have configured overdues notice/triggers properly and Koha sends email to patrons as per the policy.

I was just looking, how to make koha to send emails if in case patron does not return the book even after due date or even after overdue notices?

Also how to make koha to send emails to all the patrons about general Library information.

Apart from the above, is there a method for complete single click Koha backup including database, configuration, item and patron information?

Any suggestions in the regard would be great help for me.

Regards,

Ravi Bhat
