We are using Koha 3.00.02.012 - pretty new to it, and waiting for 3.2
before we upgrade. At the moment we re cataloguing all the books of the
library. It works very well with z39.50. I thin we have some pretty
good servers available here. We have catalogued almost 3000 books and
right now I am down to 4 books, which I have not been able to import a
record for from any server.<br>

However, during this work I noticed a peculiar behaviour. I dont know,
if I made something wrong or if it may even have been corrected in the
more recent versions. But now I will tell about it, maybe somebody
knows.<br>

Most books I was able to find by searching for the ISBN - probably more
than 95%. But some books were too old for having an ISBN, so i started
searching for titles and authors. I found some, but there was still a
bunch left. Then I discovered that the remaining books had Danish
special chars in title and/or authors name - which turned out to be the
problem.<br>

As an example, I had a book with the title "Da skibene førte sejl". If
I search for that I get no results. But if I search for "Da skibene" or
"Da skibene f?rte sejl", I get it. Now you could thing that I had made
a mistake in the z39.50 client profile - selecting UTF-8 instead of
ISO_6937 or something like that. But in the search results the title
comes up as it should, with all these special chars. The translation of
codes from the z39.50-server to Koha works - but the other way it
doesn't.<br>

It is not a huge problem, because as I said in most cases we can search
for the ISBN, and if we have to search for title or author, we can
simply replace all special chars with question marks - but I think it
is strange?<br>
