Hmmm, that seems to serve a very similar purpose as subfield &#39;c&#39;, which in Koha&#39;s 952 is &#39;shelving location&#39; by default.  I suppose that this subfield could be used to provide a further level of granularity to the location information for an item, i.e. Branch -&gt; Shelving Location -&gt; Shelving Control Number.<br>
<br>Or, perhaps this is meant to serve as an alternative to call number for items that do not have one, or are shelved differently.<br><br>I&#39;ve always wondered about this field.  Is anyone actively using it, and for what purpose?<br>
