<br>I don't mean to be confrontational, but I can't settle with the explanation that *just viewing* the item (never hitting "save") still causes the OPAC to do something different. If you were experiencing a lag related to the index being rebuilt, it might be that the amount of time used doing those things is enough to get the data into the index. But otherwise we would have to find what field in the database was mysteriously being updated when we didn't think we were writing to the database at all (and then how). Stranger things have happened, but that is still strange.<br>
