your problem may also be due to incompatible mysql server version ( we
have already had that discussion on issues with mysql 4 series and the
need to revert back).<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
I dont think not starting MYSQL is a problem as your KOHA will not
start and will send u a error status 500 message. <br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Also
check whether in the z3950-daemon-launch.sh script in line 35 u have
given the correct user name. and do use some standard Z 39.50 gateways
like LOC, AMICUS,CARDIFF&nbsp; etc., <br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
Do check ur mysql tables containing the z39.50 result info like  <label for="d"></label>
<a href="http://192.168.1.6:10000/mysql/edit_table.cgi?db=Koha&amp;table=z3950results">z3950results</a> where KOHA stores all the MARC info u queried on and  <label for="d"></label>
<a href="http://192.168.1.6:10000/mysql/edit_table.cgi?db=Koha&amp;table=z3950queue">z3950queue</a> to find&nbsp; out if u form the right queries with the right parameters and maybe marc_breeding table too.<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
Having the right MYSQL version should definitely make it work and do
